With its wide balconies, gardens, gorgeous windows and yard, La Casa Sol - Bed and Breakfast - offers to the international traveler a cozy lodge in this typical Andean style hostel.

We spent the first three years remodeling La Casa Sol, always trying to remain loyal to the art and materials of the Andean culture. Our pottery and woodworks are hand painted by artists from Cotopaxi, while the fabrics and textiles are hand made by indigenous people from the communities of Salasaca and Otavalo. The colorful and warm touch of La Casa Sol is what makes it so unique and why we are proud to open the doors and our hearts to the public.

La Casa Sol is considered part of Quito´s cultural patrimony. Years ago it was a residential home in "La Mariscal" the most popular neighborhood for wealthy families. Today, Mariscal is a modern tourist center with a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, art galleries and interesting streets and parkways full of colorful arts & crafts markets. Mariscal is not only where the embassies and consulates have their offices (US, France, Japan, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, and many others), but also where you can find beautiful handcrafts, paintings, carpets tapestries and sculptures made by talented local artists.

We invite you to visit our home, make yourself welcome, and remember... "La Casa Sol is your home".

All of our rooms are centered around a planted inner courtyard leading into the living area and cafe.

The living area has a small library and toe-toasting fireplace where you can peruse our bookshelves for the latest information about Ecuador or enjoy a game of chess and nightly fires.

And our international cafe is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm. Enjoy a freshly squeezed glass of cool tropical juice or a cup of aromatic Colombian coffee.

We also have a TV room with cable and an area with games, cards, chess, etc

Open from 7 am to 10 pm. Different brews of coffee are served in our cafeteria, mild, medium and strong scented for all tastes. No doubt you will enjoy the exquisite natural juices, from exotic fruit from the Coastal Ecuador, Amazon and the Andes Mountains. Our chef, Señora Lidia Nuñez , makes a unique combination of cereal, granola and muslë; homemade marmalade and fruit compotes. Don’t forget to try our wines, always ready for a cheer!

We are hooked to the NET by optic fiber with speedy connection 24 hours a day. All our rooms are equipped with phone lines and phone for direct international dialing or you can hook up your laptop in the different terminals in La Casa Sol for direct internet connection. If you wish to send or receive a fax our staff will be delighted to help you.

La Casa Sol, along with Andean Touring Co. International tour operator offer exclusive service to our guest in discovering Ecuador & Galápagos, exploring the amazing richness in history, culture & ecology.

Daily tours are offered to the most popular destinations around Quito, all tours include private transportation & experienced bilingual guides.
